Forklift Safety

Only trained, tested, certified, and authorized employees may operate forklifts. Operators must complete formal training and refresher training every 3 years.

• Pre-start and workplace inspections

• Operating hazards

• Types of equipment

• Load charts

• Accident prevention

Additional Requirements

• Operators must be re-trained after incidents or unsafe operation

• Work platforms may only be used if manufacturer-approved and with a written, approved plan
