Crane & Rigging Safety

• Only trained employees may rig or direct crane operations

• If FSS is responsible, a written plan and training are required

• Review crane/rigging plan with the Safety Department before lifting

Rigger Requirements

• Must be trained and qualified

• Know and verify load weights and equipment capacities

• Use hooks with safety latches

Equipment

• All rigging gear must have a manufacturer tag showing load limits

• Untagged equipment must be removed immediately

Inspection

• All rigging must be inspected daily and documented
