Safety Roles

Management

 

  • To provide a safe and healthy place of employment, free from recognized safety and health hazards that are likely to cause injury or death to our employees.

  • Dedicate resources to ensure the overall safety of the projects.

  • To assign responsibilities, authority, and promote accountability.

  • Take appropriate actions to ensure the success of the Safety Program.


Safety Director

 

  • Act as a resource to the Company regarding safety.

  • Develop and maintain the Safety Program.

  • Responsible and accountable for company safety.

  • Develop and implement safety-training programs.

  • Monitor safety performance in the company.

  • Assist in project safety planning.

  • Conduct routine safety inspections of projects.

  • Identify and correct hazards on all projects.

  • Prepare project and company safety analysis.

  • Conduct New Hire Safety Orientations.

  • Train/monitor individual safe work practices.

  • Review site specific Pre-Task Plans (PTP’s).

  • Organize and conduct Safety Committee & Supervisor Safety meetings.


Superintendents

 

  • Responsible and accountable for project safety.

  • Schedule/coordinate pre-planning meetings for project.

  • Monitor safety performance on the project.

  • Take progressive disciplinary action when appropriate.

  • Assist in project safety planning.

  • Conduct routine safety inspections of projects.

  • Identify and correct hazards.

  • Ensure the work areas remain clean and organized.

  • Review site-specific Pre-Task Plans (PTP’s).

  • Schedule/coordinate post-job meetings for project.

  • Attend required safety meetings.

  • Communicate any safety incidents or issues with the Safety Department.


Foreman/Supervisors

 

  • Responsible and accountable for their crew’s safety.

  • Responsible for keeping work areas clean and organized.

  • Ensure that safe work practices are being followed.

  • Report all injuries, no matter the severity, to the safety department.

  • Complete incident report forms and review with the safety department.

  • Coordinate project safety meetings.

  • Conduct weekly toolbox safety meetings.

  • Assist in project safety planning.

  • Prepare project and company safety analysis.

  • Monitor safety performance on the project.

  • Conduct routine safety inspections of projects.

  • Identify and correct hazards.

  • Do not proceed with work if unsafe conditions exist.

  • Take progressive disciplinary action when appropriate.

  • Conduct site-specific orientations.

  • Review site-specific Pre-Task Plans (PTP’s).


Employees

 

  • Work in a safe manner at all times and comply with all safety rules, procedures and requirements.

  • Report all injuries, no matter the severity, to their supervisor immediately.

  • Utilize proper judgment in their personal work habits and report to work in a fit condition to meet job obligations.

  • Attend orientation, weekly, and daily Safety Meetings.

  • Follow the Company’s and project safety rules.

  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & other safety equipment supplied to them.

  • Do not proceed with work if unsafe conditions exist.

  • Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately.

  • Assist in the development of the site-specific Pre-Task Plans (PTP).

  • Take care of company issued tools and PPE.

  • Shall not remove, displace, damage, destroy or relocate a safety device, safeguard, notice, or warning, furnished for use in any employment or job location.

  • Keep your work areas clean and free from safety and health hazards.

  • Be familiar with emergency procedures and participate in all emergency drills.

  • Work in a safe manner – NO SHORTCUTS!

  • Participate in the Safety Program.
