Housekeeping
Housekeeping is a critical component of safety and professionalism on all projects. Fred Shearer and Sons follows a strict “Nothing Hits the Ground” policy, meaning all debris must be immediately disposed of in designated dumpsters—debris piles are not permitted.
A clean and organized job site reflects the quality of our workmanship and the pride we take in our work. As a service-oriented company, maintaining orderly work areas is essential. Disorganized or cluttered job sites create a negative impression and reflect poorly on our capabilities as a contractor. Failure to maintain proper housekeeping may result in disciplinary action.
Employee Responsibilities
Every employee is responsible for keeping their work area clean, neat, and organized. This is essential for maintaining a safe work environment.
-
Do not rely on others to clean your work area
-
Dispose of debris promptly and properly
-
Maintain organization throughout the workday
Good housekeeping is especially important in shared and access areas. The following must always remain clear of debris and tripping hazards:
-
Aisles and passageways
-
Stairways
-
Floor perimeters
-
Entrances and exits
Maintaining a clean job site is a key part of working safely and professionally.
