1. FSS company employees must not rig or direct the operator of a crane unless properly trained.

2. If the Company will be responsible for rigging or directing the operator, a written plan and training will be required.

3. Review crane and rigging plan with the Safety Department prior to the pick.

• Riggers must be properly trained and qualified to rig material or equipment lifted by a crane.

• All weights of material to be lifted must be known and verified as well as the capacities of the rigging.

• Hooks will be equipped with safety latches.

• All rigging equipment and spreader bars shall have a manufacturer’s tag or otherwise professionally engineered mark  noting its safe working load. Rigging equipment and spreader bars not tagged or marked will be immediately removed from the project.

• All rigging will be inspected daily before each shift by the qualified rigger and documented in writing.
